Here was my epiphany as I was catching up on homework today:
I'm much more successful in life when I don't watch Oprah.

Grand Finale of Valentine's Day
I was reading through my high school journal this evening. The whole family sat down to watch High School Musical 3 and that got my brain going. I reflected the many boyfriends I had and the friendships I developed. I thought about my teachers, places I would hang out and trials I faced.
Now, I don't like to reminisce. I don't want to start thinking like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite, "Don't you ever wish you could go BACK?" I'm not that type of person. I never want to "go back".
But I learned some things about myself and I thought I would share them via internet...
1. I would jump from boyfriend to boyfriend...but I could never jump away from Adam.
2. I really do LOVE the ocean. And I mean, a spiritual connection.
3. I still have a problem with self esteem...when will THAT be done??
4. Travelling is a huge aspect of my life.
5. God doesn't change, so I'd better.
Now, to add a little Valentine's finale, I need to share a little love. Here goes...
I truly love being alive. It's SO difficult, but worth every second. I love my family and friends. I'm especially in love with Adam. I get the opportunity to share an eternity with him and that's an amazing thing. I love the gospel and what it has done for me. I would be years behind in life's progression if it had not been for this perfectly organized religion. I love my kids and I love their little faces, perfectly resembling Adam and me. I love my dog and all the dogs in my life. Where would I have been without a dog to lick my crying face?? Last but not least, I have a great love for my Heavenly Father who gives me all this. He knows what I love, and makes sure it happens in my life. Now THAT'S love.

Update on Anya's School
Things are busy around here. I'm student teaching in John's class this semester...and I had to pull some strings to make that happen. I'm taking a couple of classes and one of them requires 30 practicum hours in the classroom. After a lengthy ordeal, I finally have John's teacher as my mentor teacher.
Somehow, I've managed to keep up with school and motherhood. I really feel inclined to get an education, especially since our prophet recently encouraged all the women of the church to do this. As I heard the following words, I felt strongly inclined to go back to school.
He said, "Beyond our study of spiritual matters, secular learning is also essential. Often the future is unknown; therefore, it behooves us to prepare for uncertainties. Statistics reveal that at some time, because of the illness or death of a husband or because of economic necessity, you may find yourself in the role of financial provider. Some of you already occupy that role. I urge you to pursue your education—if you are not already doing so or have not done so—that you might be prepared to provide if circumstances necessitate such.
Your talents will expand as you study and learn. You will be able to better assist your families in their learning, and you will have peace of mind in knowing that you have prepared yourself for the eventualities that you may encounter in life.
I reiterate: Study diligently." (Thomas S. Monson, October 2007 General Relief Society Meeting)
So, I'm finally back in school. What am I studying? I've narrowed it down to early childhood education, and I'm able to write most of my papers on autism, which I love. I'm going to Rio Salado online college right now, and I'm in the transfer program for ASU.
I love spending time in the classroom and I LOVE going to "COLLEGE" in my son's kindergarten class!!

Day with the Counselors
This morning I had the privilege of attending a regional auxiliary training for our church. Many times, these trainings have guest speakers or area authorities who come visit. This morning, we had the opportunity to hear from Sister Margaret Lifferth, 1st counselor in the Primary General Presidency, Sister Sylvia Allred, 1st counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, and Sister Mary Cook, 2nd counselor of the Young Women's General Presidency.
As I sat, second row, listening to these women speak, I reflected on my membership in the church. I was able to have yet another personal witness of the Lord's love. These were women of strength and virtue. Each of them were different but one in purpose, which was to proclaim the gospel and teach. I was able to witness the hard work these women do, devoting their lives to the church.
So many personal revelations came to my mind and I was truly blessed to have the chance to listen to women of such spiritual strength. Yay for the gospel...yay for these righteous women!
